As mentioned in a previous article about the Metko show, the “big ones” were there. One of them is Komatsu Forest which had an impressive display of machines on the stand. Most of, if not even the whole range was shown.
Komatsu Forest at the Metko show
Komatsu Forest had an impressive stand and put up a great show at the Metko. At least I think it was great, it was the impression I got even though all presentations were in the Finnish language which I don’t understand.
Most of the machines were parked but one forwarder and one harvester were demonstrated. However, the harvester didn’t fall any trees during the demo.
Komatsu Forest – What’s new?
One piece of news was presented by Komatsu Forest at the Metko. The “XT-Option” is an option for the Komatsu 855 forwarder. It’s an accessory to adapt the 855 for tougher terrain. The XT-Option is a sturdier bogie and hub reduction, and an increased traction force by 5 percent. According to Komatsu, this gives “the already sturdy 855 extra endurance, traction force, and strength, which make it extremely suitable for jobs under tough conditions.”
